The Carpathian Mountains house centuries-old forests, national parks and animals which could not be seen anymore in Western Europe and found here a final shelter. The most known are the bear, the wolf and the lynx. The Carpathians house the largest area of virgin forests in Europe (except Russia), out of which 70% are in Romania.

Romania is the country with the biggest number of brown bears in Europe (except Russia) – almost 6000.  This shows the wilderness of many areas of the country, as well as nature’s capacity to self-preserve. Also this is an argument which strengthens the idea launched by Prince Charles that Romania has a balance between nature, people and their way of living. However, this equilibrium becomes fragile, and with the help of some local organizations or even global ones like WWF (World Wide Found), it is kept alive, alongside with the beauty of the nature. If you have a trip to the mountains you can see the differences between a rich, well conserved natural environment and a poor one. You can simply feel that the fields are not empty (because there are filled with so many species of flowers) and that the forests are not empty because of all the animals are living there.

The Danube Delta is a miracle of nature, and it represents the shelter for more than 300 species of birds and more than 100 species of freshwater fish. It is included on the World Heritage list by UNESCO and it is considered a biosphere reservation by UNESCO Man and Biosphere Program.

The Danube Delta is a totally different world. A trip there will show you the unseen faces of nature, where you can see, feel, smell and taste the beauty of it. Have a look at the pictures and imagine a trip in the morning of a sunny day, on a tight waterway, in a sea of green lush, with trees alongside, with sounds of birds coming from nowhere, with a fresh and clean air and a silence that gives you the freedom to dream. The Danube Delta is a unique place that clearly shows the equilibrium of nature and gives positive energy to the tourist while cancelling the meaning of time.
